Review: Love Wish

Love Wish is a jigsaw puzzle game in which you'll collect pin-ups of pretty girls by putting the images together. And that's... That's it, really. There's not much more to the game.

Technical stuff

    -H subgenre: Pin-up collector.

    -Playtime: About an hour.

-Where to get it?: It's on Steam for 0'79€, or 1$.

-Does it need a patch for +18 content?: It's a free DLC. Without it, all the pin-ups are fully clothed and there's no variations or animations.

-Languages it comes in: A whole bunch, technically, but the game barely has any text to begin with. In fact, I think it doesn't have text at all, save for the title. There's a bit of voiceover that seems to be in Japanese, but it's not really important.

-DLC's: It has one, Love Wish - FREE DLC, which as the name suggests is a free DLC that uncensors the game and adds a few more pin-ups.

Fetishes/kinks/sexual themes:

Not many, I'd say the game is quite vanilla. There's some yuri, masturbation, penetration and a bit of public stuff, but both the girls and the pin-ups themselves are rather basic.

Ratings & review

-Art: 8/10. The art is pretty good, quality wise. With the DLC, there's a total of 12 pin-ups, each with 5 variations in which the clothes gradually disappear. Each pin-up has a 2D live animated version as well, most of which are pretty decent and even interesting, but a few of them might feel weird. The anime style of the pieces is cute, colorful and cohesive, but he designs of the girls are quite generic, and most poses as well.

-Gameplay: It's a jigsaw puzzle game. There are 12 puzzles, one for each pin-up, and each puzzle has 5 levels, one for each pin-up variation. There's not much to the gameplay, you're given the pieces and you have to put them together to reconstruct the image. The less clothed the girl, the harder the puzzle, but none of them took me more than a few minutes to complete. The game also has a gallery section in which to view the images you've unlocked, with all their variations and their animation.

    -Story: Nope, zero.

-OST/Sound design: The OST is nothing really worth talking much about, every puzzle has its own theme, but all of the tracks are just generic, soft music. The few sound effects were fine, for the most part. I really wouldn't have had a problem with this game's sound design, if it wasn't for one thing: the pin-ups are voiced, both in the gallery and in the puzzle sections. Of course, these are just generic anime pin-ups, so this "voice over" is just clips of kawaii anime girl moans. The moans vary on intensity depending on the variation of the pin-up you're solving or viewing, and every girl has her own voiceover. This all sounds good, except in reality it was extremely annoying and I ended up muting the game by the second puzzle. I wouldn't have minded the moans had they been reserved for the gallery section, but they were just annoying to me while I was solving the puzzles.

-Bugs: I don't know to what extent this is a bug and not a lack of polishing, but the last three pin-ups have a weird occurrence. The image you put together in the puzzle and the image you unlock in the gallery aren't the same. I assume this happens because the images were changed at some point, but it's confusing and strange. But apart from that, I didn't find anything that didn't work the way it was supposed to.

-Fap worth: Decent, I guess. There's not a whole lot of content, nor is it incredibly interesting, but the pin-ups aren't bad. Some boobs and genitals aren't all that well drawn, though, and some animations can take you out of the mood for being too exaggerated or weird. The kawaii moans are there, too, so if they're your thing, they should help.

Recommended?

Depends. The game is very cheap and the H art isn't bad. But I was also massively bored during the little time I played this game. It does have a bunch of Steam achievements, though, and it's easy to 100%, so if that's an incentive for you, go ahead and buy it. If not, you aren't missing out a lot on this one, in my opinion.

Final rating is 5'5/10.
