Isekai Quest is a game that combines match-three style combat and RPG elements. We'll wake up in the world of Isekai after being hit by a truck on our way to the convenience store to get some ramen. Already familiar with the cliche, our character will venture into this fantastic world with only one goal in mind: building his very own Isekai harem.
Technical stuff
-H subgenre: Bishoujo.
-Playtime: I played for 6 hours to get all achievements, but a normal playthrough probably lasts around 4 hours, maybe less.
-Where to get it?: You can get it on Steam for 3'29€, I guess approximately 4$.
-Does it need a patch for +18 content?: It's a free DLC. The game is pretty incomplete without it, in fact, since it was obviously developed with the full intention of being an adult game. If you play the game without the +18 DLC, naked sprites will be censored, and the CG's will be either impossible to unlock or fully censored with black bars, since they're all lewd.
-Languages it comes in: Text is in... a whole bunch of languages that I'm not gonna list here because they're too many, but I wouldn't trust that the translations are good. Voices are only in Japanese.
-DLC's: There are two for this game:
-Artbook + Digital album is pretty self descriptive. Digital album with concept arts and such, in case you want to support the artist on top of buying the game.
-True Vision is the free DLC with the +18 content.
Fetishes it covers
Isekai Quest is a pretty vanilla game. It mostly has basic, pin-up styled sex scenes, but it also features stuff like roleplaying outfits (e.g. maid), censorship by band-aid, and some pretty, very soft bondage. The girls are more or less varied, so you'll find small chest, big boobs, MILF, tan, etc.
Ratings & review
-Art: 9/10. It's very good, and in my opinion the best part of the game. The art style is very nice, it's obviously anime inspired but it also has a digital painting look to it that fits perfectly with the smooth 2D live animations. The designs themselves are pretty good too, with some of them being a bit basic, archetypical stuff, but they aren't bad.
-Gameplay: 6/10. The gameplay loop doesn't really have a tutorial, and it takes a bit to understand how it works, but in the end it's pretty simple stuff. You'll fight each girl, in the order that you wish, a total of three times in match-three combats to fill up her love meter and unlock her sex scenes. After each combat, you'll be given a choice of stats to increase, skills to level up or items to obtain. However, the combats with the girls scale in difficulty way faster than you increase your stats or skills, so loss is inevitable. When you die, however, you'll start all over again keeping the stats you leveled up, so eventually you'll be able to beat all the girls. This system is interesting, because you'll end up making your own strategy based on each girl's difficulty, but it can get repetitive, and it's easy to abuse. You'll also find small story bits, visual novel style, before each battle. You'll sometimes have one or two choices in these bits, and the option you choose can have more or less impact. The choices can make you start the battle with only 50% of your HP, or unlock new H scenes, for example, so experimentation with the choices is necessary.
-Story: It's a story about a cliché. The introduction of the game is pretty much a parody of the isekai genre in general. Apart from that, there isn't much of a story. It has a beggining and two endings, but the middle is just the gameplay loop and some conversations with the waifus. However, I'm glad that this game has a final boss and two endings, because even though you can still play infinitely on the same file after that, even see both endings in the same run, it gives the game a sense of "closure", that wasn't needed, but it's very much appreciated.
-Bugs: I found quite a few. They are relatively small and don't really affect the gameplay, but they're there. They don't really make the game feel unfinished, just unpolished, but it doesn't look like the developer/s have any intentions of fixing them.
-Fap worth: It's honestly pretty good in this sense. The art style is attractive, the animations are smooth, the girls are cute. The scenes are voiced, but they're mostly moans and a few words here and there. As for the quantity, each one of the seven girls has 2-4 scenes, so there's a good amount of content. There are two types of H scenes, some will have you grab and touch the girl around until she gets turned on, and the others will have you advance, speed up, or slow down a 2D live animation.
Recommended?
Honestly, yeah. It's short, but also cheap, and features some pretty nice H content. Most of the conversations or lines are fun or at least interesting, the combat is decent and some girls require some thinking to beat. On top of that, it looks like the developer/s are working on adding more content, in fact, a few of the girls that are currently available in the game were added after it was launched. So yeah, recommended.
Final rating is 8/10.
