Sakura Fox Adventure tells us the story of Mikoto, a foxgirl who wants to go outside and see the world, since she has never left her village. She's supposed to become her mother's successor as leader of the tribe, but something's wrong, and her powers are not as strong as they should be despite her constant training sessions with her poweful tutor, Ohana. One day, she'll decide to sneak out of her village to visit a human festival, in which she'll meet a knight called Juni. But her little escapade will bring way more consecuences that she had thought.
Technical stuff
-H subgenre: Yuri.
-Playtime: I finished it in about 3 hours.
-Where to get it?: It's on Steam for 9'99€, I guess a bit over 10$.
-Does it need a patch for +18 content?: Yes it does, but on the Guides page of the game on Steam you'll find the link to the patch and a guide on how to install it. Without the patch, the game is ecchi instead of hentai, and the sex scenes are cut off.
-Languages it comes in: Text is in English and Simplified Chinese. No voices.
-DLC's: Nope.
Fetishes it covers
There's a strong catgirl/nekomimi element in this game, since the main character is a foxgirl. This is a yuri game, so expect a lot of girl on girl action too. You'll also find some tentacle stuff, threesome, and... that's about it.
Ratings & reviews
-Art: 9/10. As expected from a Sakura title, the art is gorgeus. Very animu styled, soft, colorful. The anatomy can be a bit awkward in some of the hentai CG's, but that's not rare in hentai. In general, the art is very good, and for such a short game, there's quite a few CG's.
-Story: 6'5/10. It's... There. It has some twists, the characters don't feel too plain, but it's a ecchi/hentai story after all. One doesn't watch porn for the plot, and this is not exception. Still, it does it's job, it's not boring because it has action, and twisted and forbidden romances, and not a lot of filling. The game also has some fourth wall moments, which kinda bothered me in a way. These moments are mostly used to poke fun at one of my biggest complaints about the game: there are very few characters. This shouldn't necessarily be a problem, because it's a short and simple story. But the problem is that there are no character portraits apart from the three main girls. So any character that isn't part of the main cast is reduced to a bunch of faceless lines, which feels like a terrible waste of potential to make a deeper story. The fourth wall moments try to joke out of this, and while it's funny in a way, it also reminds me of the game feeling... Lazy. Despite all this, I did generally enjoy the story.
-Gameplay: Even though it's a visual novel, it felt like a kinetic novel (a visual novel without choices) at times. There are choices, but just a few. This makes it easier to unlock all four endings and all CG's, though it can make the experience a little boring. Apart from that, it's a standard VN, click to advance the text and read the story, enjoy the CG gallery when you're home alone.
-Bugs: Not really, just a few typos here and there. I don't know if qualifying this as a bug is correct, but the automatic text was very slow and changing the speed in the settings didn't seem to make any difference. So I had to go through the game manually, which was a bit annoying.
-Fap worth: I was pleasantly surprised with this one. The amount and quality of the CG's holds up perfectly on it's own, and even though it isn't voiced, the descriptions of the H scenes can get pretty hot. The stuff is mostly vanilla yuri, and you won't find any hardcore content, but the angles and poses are very good, and you'll see a lot of soft boobies and wet pussies.
Recommended?
Sure, if it's on sale. It's definitely a good H game, but it's very short for the price. Over 10$ for 3 hours of content just isn't worth it, not only because of the duration, but also because, even though the art is good, it's not mind-blowingly amazing. So I'd say definitely pick it up, but at 50% off minimum, which isn't hard considering this game is a few years old and I'm pretty sure it gets discounted multiple times a year.
Final rating is 7/10.
